Planning Committee - Monday 13 October 2025 at 7pm in the Parish Rooms, Hall Street, Crowland

It was resolved that the minutes of the parish council meeting held on the 9 September be approved as the official minutes.  Proposed by Cllr Searle, seconded by Cllr Williams and agreed by all.

Comments: Access not suitable with the number of houses and concern regarding the road structure and width of Hereward Way, otherwise no objections.

Installation of solar panels.    Comments: No objection.

Alderlands James Road Road Crowland PE6 0AA

Change of use of part of land from former bus/coach yard to vehicle storage for up to 50 cars. Retrospective.

Comments: Strong objection. Proposed usage has a detrimental impact on the access into an historic market town. If the site is considered appropriate substantial screening will be required so that it is not seen by visitors into the town. The remaining land should also be managed appropriately and not just left to rewild. If agreed the storage aspect should be maintained with no trading on site.

3 Railway Cottages Martins Road Crowland PE6 0JT – demolition of existing rear structure & erection of single storey rear extension, creation of a Juliet balcony, erection of new front porch, erection of a single storey pool house with indoor pool.

Action

       A parishioner's email was discussed relating to the new housing developments,

       matters covered being benches, dog and waste bins all of which will require the

       respective management companies giving permission. Finally, the none compliance

       with planning conditions relating to tree planting – the council (clerk) will contact the

       planning office regarding this.

  1. Crowland, North & West Street – proposed waiting restriction email from LCC

 

       Members discussed the proposals and agreed that the restrictions should stop after

       the Spar shop initially to see how it works then review after 12 months.

 

  1. Fly tipping – stopping off

 

       Cllr Boor reported increasing problems with fly tipping at green Drove leading to Hax

       Roadway. He has spoken to local landowners who are looking at a barrier at the Green

       Drove end. This may present an opportunity to stop up Hacks Roadway so that fly tipping

       would not be possible.

 

  1. Consideration of establishing a Community speed watch group

 

        Members agreed that if parishioners come forward to form a group the Council will

        financially support the purchase of equipment and training.

 

  1. Trinity Court Car Park

 

Cllr Williams will review the position..

        Months time.
