Crowland Parish Council

Crowland Parish Council provides local services for approximately 4000 people living within the parish, most in the town of Crowland.  It owns 25 acres of parkland and greens and manages a further 16 acres of grassed area on behalf of other agencies and also the Kissing Ground. It also owns and lets over 170 acres of farmland plus manages a similar amount on behalf of the Normanton estate.  Some 400 trees are owned and maintained by the Parish Council plus hedgerows and shrubs within its land holdings together with the Centenary and Millenium Oak plantations.

Other services provided include waste bins, allotment gardens, benches, bus shelters plus the recreation equipment and skatepark on the Snowden field which also accommodates the sports pavilion, youth building and car park, the sports hall on the South View School site, and rooms on Hall Street. The Town Council employs 2 full time and 5 part time employees, and is run by up to 15 elected volunteer members.  It is directly funded from Council Tax (the Precept), currently costing each paying household around £1 per week. Additional income is earned from rents and hiring fees, plus administrative payments for services carried out for other agencies, such as toilet cleaning and litter collection.

Snowden Pavilion and Sports Field

Crowland Parish Council owns and maintains the Pavilion and Sports Field in Thorney Road.  This is a fantastic facility which is available for the use of the community.

The site is looked after by a Steward on behalf of the Council.

Bookings to hire the Pavilion or Field for functions or sports matches must be made through the Parish Council Office.

Allotments

Crowland Parish Council Allotments are located on James Road opposite the Snowden Field.

The allotments have recently moved from their original site and we now have a number of full or half allotments  available to rent. 

The site also contains a building with toilet and kitchen facilities and storage lockers.
