The meeting was opened by Chair - Councillor C Elphee who welcomed all attendees.

  1. Bus Stop in West Street

Contact was received from Stagecoach on 6th March 2026, and a meeting has been arranged for Tuesday 17th March at 3pm with the Depot Manager to visit the bus stop location and discuss available options. The Bus Stop Grant application form will be completed in an effort to secure funding.

 

  1. Highway Service – County Councillor CVS Nomination form

The Clerk will submit the CVS Nomination Form to request support for three projects: the Skate Park revamp, War Memorial cleaning, and the installation of a slab pathway to the Post Box on Postland Road.

 

  1. To review the Call for Sites for the Local Plan.

Cllr David Kempton outlined several potential land options for submission, including James Road Industrial land, the option land next to the cemetery, the area between the Bowls Club and the Pavilion, leisure/hotel/commercial land, and land on the opposite side of the allotments. Cllr B. Alcock also suggested land between the allotments. Ambury Gardens was identified as a potential residential plot. The submission form must be completed by 31st March 2026.

 

  1. Lamps of Peace

The committee reviewed the Lamps of Peace initiative and agreed to proceed with the purchase of a Lamp and a 90 × 54 flag. A recommendation will be made to Full Council for approval of the purchase.

 

 

  1. ANY OTHER MATTERS TO BE INCLUDED ON A FUTURE AGENDA.

Post Box at Postland Road – to be added for discussion.

District Council Funding – Cllr B. Alcock reported that £3,000 has been allocated for Crowland Christmas Lights.

Car Wash Site – Cllr P. Stowe noted that the site now appears to be selling cars; the planning application will be reviewed.

Abbey Clock – Cllr J. Boor requested that Steven Strickland be chased for an update; to be included on next month’s agenda.

Cemetery Crosses – Cllr G. Searle raised concerns that the wooden crosses are decaying and the grass is overgrown.
