Minutes of a Planning & Place Committee Meeting

Monday 20 May 2024 at 7pm in the Parish Rooms, Hall Street, Crowland

Details of footway and estate road phasing and completion plan (Conditions 4 and 6 of H02-0696-22) – Condition compliance

Comments: No objections

Proposed temporary site construction entrance

Comments: concerns regarding the safety as this access is close to other junctions.  Recommend that gates or barriers be used stopping residents from using it and also an end date when this access will be closed off and reinstated back to how it is now.

Comments: Objection – this application is significantly in front of the building line and not in keeping with the nature of the street scene in this area.

Comments: CPC leave this to the expertise of the tree specialist.

Loft conversion to first floor flat with conservation velux roof lights including dormer to the rear and creation of internal access stair enclosure.

Comments: no objections

5.   Planning Notifications/Decisions

6.   City Fiber – pathways 

Request for a plan showing the locations that the boxes will be placed – Action TC

Boxes are being placed in various places.  

The pole requested for a Wayleave is on the green owned by CPC, is the pole going to be replaced a Wayleave, should be for each location on CPC land.  

7.   Bench that was demolished beside the Bridge – relocation. 

Discussion was had about the bench that was accidentally damaged recently and was beyond repair. It was agreed that for H&S reasons that the bench in this location is not ideal, this area has now proved vulnerable.  This Area to be made good, local company to be contacted. Action TC

8.   Bus Shelters 

The replacement bus shelter along Postland Road was discussed with quotations received, TC tried to receive 3 similar quotations to her best endeavours but only one complete quotation with the removal and placing, it was proposed and agreed to put this quotation to the full council for acceptance. 

9.   D-DAY – 6th June 2024 

This is all being actioned and CPC look forward to advertising the event – Action AW 

Flags are to be put up for the week – Action JB

10.   Commemorative bench – email received 

A request had been received regarding the placing of a new commemorative bench, this was agreed that the best location would be in the play area at the Snowden, sizes are to be confirmed. 

11.   Event for 8 May 2025 – the 80th Anniversary of VE Day

Fair has been given the dates and requested to attend TBC

An email with confirmation needs to be sent confirming CPC participation 

A working party is to be formed and a group or signer booked.   Action AW/CE/TC

12.   Letter – Open Air Service at the Snowden

Scanned copy of email was discussed and more information is needed.  Email to be sent requesting more information and sending booking information. – Action TC 

13.   Any other matters to be included on a future agenda

A town walkaround is to be arranged – Action AW/TC

Abbey Clock – Report to be chased again – Action TC

The meeting ended at  8.50pm
